Copy Files larger than 4GB to a Pen drive / Memory Card!

It\’s commonly known issue and can be avoided by a simple method that When we try to copy a file larger than 4GB to a Pendrive or a Memory Card, we get an error saying: File Too Large and the file will not be copied.

\"file-too-large\"

This is because that the drive you are using is not an NTFS volume. It could be a FAT volume and these volumes does not support storage of a single file which is larger than 4GB.

To overcome this problem, you need to convert your Drive into an NTFS volume. For this, you have 2 options:

  • OPTION 1: Format the drive using NTFS filesystem
\"format\"
  • OPTION 2: Convert the drive into NTFS filesystem without formatting it as described in the following link:

  • That’s all, now you can copy files larger than 4GB into you Drive!
