Speed up Windows by Disabling unwanted Background Tasks!

You may have noticed that many applications or tasks are running in the background even if you clear the Startup apps list. These apps may run again even if you end the processes in the Task Manager. Such backgrounds tasks include Updates (eg: Office Update, Adobe Update etc.) and other unwanted activities that can cost your Performance & Data. These background apps/tasks can cause to slow down your PC.

Many of us think that these programs starts when we logon to Windows, and try to clear the Startup programs. But, these kind of tasks are actually triggered using the Task Scheduler feature in Windows. That, even if you stop the program through the Task Manager, it will run again after sometime, as the trigger is invoked!

So, in this tutorial I am gonna show you, How to access the Task Scheduler and Disable these annoying & unwanted background programs that run frequently:

  • First, go to your Start Menu
  • Then type in the search box: “task scheduler
  • You can see the Task Scheduler program is listed in the start menu

  • Open the Task Scheduler
  • In the Task Scheduler, you can see a library tree with a library name Task Scheduler Library, in the left pane
  • Just click on the Library (Don’t expand it yet)
  • Lots of tasks will now be listed in the right pane!

  • Now, find the unwanted tasks from the list such as CorelUpdate, GoogleUpdate, AdobeAAM… etc.
  • Right Click on any of the tasks and…
  • Click Delete

  • Now, repeat this for all tasks you find unwanted
  • You can expand the Task Scheduler Library to find out more tasks

    NB: MAKE SURE YOU DON’T MESS WITH SYSTEM TASKS
  • That’s it! Just restart your PC and there are no more unwanted background tasks!
